Broad minded, life long student.

Describe the area where you live.

A quiet conservation area with lots of trees and very old houses.

What are your standout experiences, living while Black in your neighbourhood?

It is a quiet area so there has been no challenges.

What situations in your daily life remind you of your skin colour?

Having to take daily vitamin D supplements.

Describe 2 or 3 key events that helped you reach this stage in your career.

Never losing faith despite many bosses trying to put me down. Always personally investing in my education and self development.

In what ways does being Black affect your job?

You always have to work harder as you are wrongly perceived to be a 2nd class citizen and less doors are open for you in the UK.

What are your frequent irritations around work and your career?

Frequently having to prove myself time and time. Employers trying to tell me that I can’t possibly have the skills that I have.

What are your key tips to someone Black attempting a similar career?

Believe in yourself, never stop learning, keep an open mind and don’t disagree with something merely because you are ignorant about it.

What are your future goals and ambitions?

To retire to Merita (wrongly called Africa) to have a big farm, live a Vegan lifestyle and live off the land.

What is your personal definition of success?

To have financial security, to be cured from the manufactured desire to keep up with the Joneses. To reconnect with the ancestors, to banish the manufactured fear, exit the rat race, look inward and develop myself spiritually.
